Who we are

Cheap Shrimp is a trading name of Madison Jade Pty Ltd (ABN 56 661 580 936), a South Australian company registered for GST. We sell live freshwater aquarium shrimp bred in Adelaide and post them within Australia. You can reach us at [email protected].

Prices and payment

All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Stripe (the card company we use) takes your payment at checkout. We never see or store your card details. You pay the price shown on the site at the moment you order.

Live animals

You are buying live animals. We guarantee they arrive alive, under the rules on our guarantee page. That page is part of these terms. We do not guarantee whether a shrimp is male or female. We do not guarantee its exact colour grade (how solid and even the colour and pattern are). We do not guarantee anything that comes of breeding them: whether they breed, how many babies they have, or what the babies look like. Unless we say otherwise, the shrimp are young, about half grown, not full size.

Where we can send them

We post to NSW, VIC, QLD, ACT and SA. We do not post to WA or TAS, because state biosecurity law does not allow it. For NT orders, the person receiving the shrimp must hold a valid s13 movement permit (the NT Fisheries permit to bring live shrimp into the NT). You must give us the permit number at checkout. We check it before we post. If you give us a delivery address in a state we cannot post to, we will refund you instead of posting.

When we post

We post on Mondays. If the Monday is a South Australian public holiday, we post on the Tuesday. Orders must be in by Sunday 8pm Adelaide time. In extreme weather we may hold a week's post. We will tell you if we do.

Cancelling an order

These are live animals, picked and bagged just for your order. You can cancel for a full refund any time before your order is packed on the morning we post. After that, the guarantee rules apply instead.

Liability

Nothing here takes away any guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Beyond those rights, the most we are liable for on any order is what you paid for it.

Which law applies

The law of South Australia applies to these terms.
